Ensure Ideal Ribbon/Substrate Match

November 16, 2011 - Norwood Marking Systems offers a large assortment of affordable, high performance printer ribbons for thermal transfer and hot stamp coding and marking equipment to satisfy a wide range of applications in the packaging industry. To ensure the best ribbon/substrate match and achieve the highest print quality, Norwood offers free print quality testing.

"To help each customer select the perfect printer ribbon for their application, we will test print on their material at no cost. As part of this service, we'll recommend the ideal ribbon as well as determine the proper printer settings. We provide this service for customers whether they are using our printers or not," said Pat Paredes, Ribbon Sales Manager at Norwood Marking Systems. "Our turnaround for this complimentary service is very quick - sometimes as fast as the next business day."

Norwood' s thermal transfer printer ribbons are designed to achieve superior performance whether running on Norwood's printers or competitors' printers. Featuring proprietary formulations, these ribbons extend printhead life by ensuring excellent printhead protection, no ink buildup and eliminating static charges in the ribbon. Extending printhead life reduces operating costs and maximizes print quality.

Norwood's hot stamp printer ribbons print clear and instantly dry messages, achieving superior performance and flexibility on a wide range of substrates including a variety of plastics, paper, nylon, metalized films, cellophane, cellulose and more. Formulations are available for UV (ultraviolet), water-soluble and pharmaceutical applications as well as FDA-approved formulations for incidental contact with food.

Dedicated to providing world-class service as well as superior printer ribbons at an affordable cost, Norwood offers same-day and next-day delivery on all standard ribbons. Standard thermal transfer ribbons come in ten colors and range in size from 1 to 8.66 inches (25 to 220 mil) wide. Standard hot stamp ribbons are available in seven colors and range in size from ½ to 6 inches (13 to 152 mil) wide. In addition to the standard colors, Norwood will customize its hot stamp ribbons to match any color.

"Customers come to Norwood for ribbons because they trust us - we are experts in coding and marking with more than 50 years of experience with a wide range of applications," noted Paredes. "Our expertise in both equipment and consumables makes us highly skilled at identifying the ideal combination of elements that will achieve superior print quality."
